Friday night racing at Cornwall BMX

Opening Times:

Until mid-April the track is open for Novice Coaching sessions on Saturday 09:30 - 11:00 and 11:30 - 13:00. There is an Open Session  from 13:00 - 16:00. On Sundays 10:30 - 12:30 we run structured coaching for Expert riders, again under the control of our coaches. At 13:00 - 16:00 there is another Open Session.

From mid-April (date to be decided) we will be opening Tuesdays and Fridays from 18:00 - 21:00 but see our Facebook group page for more details.

IMPORTANT: We are affected by the weather and may not open if it is deemed unsafe to do so.  Please check with us before travelling any distance.  Sundays and Friday Open Session may include low-key races and these will be decided on the day dependent upon number of attendees - you do not have to take part in these but the main track cannot be ridden whilst races are in progress.

What you will find at Cornwall BMX Club:

We have a purpose-built BMX race track of c340 metres length with start hill, banked turns and jumps.

In addition we have a pump-track and practice jumps. There are toilets on site and a cafe serving hot/cold drinks, sweets and refreshments.

Rider Information:

Coaching sessions are under the guidance of British Cycling qualified coaches.  Attendees are expected to take part in all the activities under their guidance.  Riders must wear long-sleeved top, long trousers, full-face helmet and full-fingered gloves.

We can loan the latter two items if required.  If bringing your own bike it must be suitable for off-road riding, have a minimum working rear brake and no accessories, especially stunt-pegs.

Session/Coaching Fees:

Coaching sessions are £2 for Club members and £4 (wef 1st April) for non-members - fee includes loan of bike and helmet, gloves, etc.

Open Sessions are £2 for Club members and £4 (wef 1st April) for non-members.

* Bike hire for Open Sessions is extra and is under review - please check beforehand re fees for bike hire if you will need one as they are limited and issued on a first-come basis.

Nearest Post Code is TR4 8HJ.  On entering Blackwater Village from East or West, take turning opposite Hawkins Dealership and proceed up North Hill.  At crossroads at the top of the hill carry on across and about 120 metres on your left is a gate.  You have arrived and our car park is down the lane.
